Pennsylvania Christmas Events 2026 Worth the Drive from Cook Forest
The best Pennsylvania Christmas events for 2026 are not all in one city. They are spread from the craft barns of Cook Forest to the poinsettia rooms of Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, with Victorian main streets, Amish country cookie tours, and drive-through light shows in between. If you are spending the holidays in the woods, that spread works in your favor: you can pick one big night out and still be back by the fire before bedtime.
At Hemlock Haven Retreats, we host guests in our treehouses and cabins around Cook Forest and the Allegheny National Forest all year, and December is one of our favorite months out here. This guide is the plan we would hand a friend: a few small-town traditions close to home, one big Pittsburgh day, and a couple of light shows worth the drive. Every 2026 date below comes from the organizer’s own site or the official tourism listing, and every drive time is from Cook Forest State Park. If you are still choosing a base, start with our treehouses and cabins near Cook Forest.
Christmas Events Within an Hour of Cook Forest

Cook Forest Gingerbread Tour
The holiday season around here starts early, with the Gingerbread Tour on the first full weekend of November. The anchor stop is the Cook Forest Sawmill Center for the Arts, where the craft market fills with more than 85 local artisans plus visiting vendors, all juried and all indoors. It is also the Sawmill’s last open weekend of the season, so it is the time to pick up handmade gifts.

In 2025 the Chamber and the Punxsutawney Rotary also hosted a day of holiday activities in Barclay Square before the parade, so check the Chamber’s page for the 2026 lineup.
